PhD Programs

As a PhD student at the Department of Astronomy and Theoretical Physics you will be a part of one of our research groups and will work in close collaboration with a supervisor working on a specific research project. Besides the actual research work, you also need to take courses corresponding to 60-90 higher education credits.

The department normally has about 20 active PhD students at any given time, and every year one or two new students are accepted per research group.

The studies take four years or 240 higher education credits. The official rules can be found in the postgraduate education discipline curriculum:astronomy, theoretical physics.
