Artificial neural networks and Deep Learning, FYTN14, 7.5 hp

The course is given the second period of the autumn semester every odd year (2015, 2017...).


This course is intended to give an introduction to the art of neural network computation. Artifical neural networks (ANN) represents a technology that has connections to many disciplines such as neurosciene, statistics and physics. ANNs can be applied in a variety of different fields including time series prediction, pattern recognition and combinatorial optimization. The course have four main topics: Feed-forward networks, feed-back networks, self-organizing networks and networks for combinatorial optimization problems. This course will provide you with enough knowledge to use neural networks in practical applications.
